Singing our partners’ songs
During the April music lessons, our students from grades 1-5 sang the songs our partners had chosen to introduce. The most favourite song appeared to be the Slovenian “Petelinček je na goro šel” – “A rooster on a mountain went.” Thank you to our partners for sharing the songs with us and our music teachers for including them in the music lessons.

Estonian Runosong / Regilaul
Runosong, in Estonian regilaul, is a singing tradition common to most Finnic peoples. For centuries, runosong has been the main musical-poetic way of expression for these people, a layperson’s skill, which during the era of oral culture had somewhat different functions from modern poetic or musical culture. Songs were used to preserve and pass on knowledge, experiences and attitudes, to support the functioning of the world and the community and to try to influence them. It was mostly sung by women and was a great part of everyday life.
Lyrics translated to English:
Three forests
Blue-coloured and silky
Flew over three forests
One was the proper apple woods
Second the nice birch woods
Third the sweet fir woods
What was a proper apple woods
It was my gentle granny’s woods
What was my nice birch woods
That was my bright granddad’s woods
What was my sweet fir woods
That was my little brother’s woods

How to play the game!
Our year 5 students with teacher Inga prepared instructions for the game to teach it to others.
Erasmus+ Day
We celebrated Erasmus+ day on October 13 and 14. We invited the students of our school to cooperate with their (grand)parents on the topic “My (grand)parents’ childhood games”.
Times and customs have changed. Many games that were popular ten years ago have sunk into oblivion today. We wanted to introduce and remind them again among children. Almost 50 families responded to the call, sending us work in a variety of ways (poster, video, drawings, drawings, handwritten game instructions).
All participants were recognized, and special prizes were also awarded to the most unique works.
Various game instructions were put up on the ground and first floor of the school building until the beginning of November. It was also possible to discover various activities of completed Erasmus+ projects via QR codes from the stand on the first floor.
On October 13 and 14, we tried out these games both during the lessons and during recess.
Thank you to all the children and parents who answered the call and shared their childhood games with us.

European-themed Quizzes in November 2022
The Erasmus + community carried out the European-themed quizzes on the 9-10th of November 2022 in 8th grade English classes. Together, they solved Kahoot and Quizizzis games about European countries.
5th grade students filled in contour maps of the countries of the European Union and their capitals as a team. The cards came out very colourful and different. We also give prizes to the best participants. The activities were supported by Europe Direct Pärnumaa.
